A brief real estate bio about Bill
After working for seven years with an area real estate company, Bill Guy joined Howard Perry and Walston in 1993 as manager of the Six Forks office. Since that time, Bill has also managed the Crabtree office and the Strickland office; served as the Business Development Manager for the Strickland, Falls and Cary offices; and is currently Vice President - Managing Broker for the Garner, Fuquay-Varina and Clayton offices.
Since '93, Bill has consistently led profitable sales offices. He has been recognized with numerous company honors:
- Manager of the Year (2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2016),
- Office of the Year (2006, 2015 and 2016),
- Recruiting Manager of the Year (2003, 2007, 2013 and 2014), and
- in 2009, Bill was inducted into the HPW Managers’ Hall of Fame.
Along the way, Bill has been instrumental in the development and success of many Howard Perry and Walston associates and continues to lead, mentor and support his team of both new and experienced brokers. Perhaps the greatest testament to Bill’s strength as a manager comes directly from some of the associates that he has worked with through the years.
“I have been with HPW for almost 16 years and I credit Bill Guy for the success of my business. He has always kept me focused on my business and has always been there for me when I needed help. Bill has tremendous knowledge of real estate and he gladly shares that with his associates - that is what makes him a successful manager. It is also one of the reasons he has been repeatedly honored as Manager of the Year.”
Susan Abshire (Six Forks & Crabtree)
“Bill Guy is perhaps the most exceptional manager in our real estate market. He responds immediately when needed, he encourages an agent when appropriate, he has developed systems that allow him to access key information quickly, and his ultimate pleasure is observing success on the part of his agents. He has a proven track record of assuming leadership of a struggling real estate office and seeing it rise to excellence. I would say he's ‘Simply the Best’.”
Linda Sholar (Six Forks & Crabtree)
“I have been in the real estate business for over 5 years and have had the opportunity to work under several managers. Of the managers that I have been associated with, Bill Guy has been the most knowledgeable and dedicated manager that I have had. He is in at 7am every morning and keeps himself available to anyone who needs help. Bill is also a stickler for detail as he takes thorough notes of all questions and follows up no matter how big or small the issue. Bill’s approach to management shows no prejudice, as he holds everyone to the same standards and expects great things from and for everyone. If you are looking for someone to hold you accountable and to help you build your business, Bill is your Guy!”
Jim Oksen (Garner)
“Bill is a welcoming wealth of knowledge to the Garner Office. His willingness to share and provide the right real estate tools to all agents is greatly appreciated. His training skills are top notch and he is always available to help, answer questions, and provide accurate and up to date information. As Manager, his leadership is evident by his obvious joy in our personal success, and his desire to see our office prosper.”
Jackie Brown (Garner)
“My life is filled with challenges……I am a single mom raising 3 children. I am also in real estate full time!! Having a great manager is a vital part of my life. When Bill came to our office, he told us that he chose success a long time ago. Those words stuck with me. I choose success as well. Bill has given me materials, tools, and words of wisdom to make real estate fun and exciting!! He always has time for me. He has challenged me to do things that the “average” agent won’t do. With him as my leader, mentor and one of my greatest supporters, how can I not succeed? Choose the Garner office and you won’t be disappointed!!”
Angela Norman (Garner)
“As a Broker, Bill Guy is the epitome of leadership. Developing his agents and improving their business is a goal he spends endless hours achieving. The confidence we as agents had under his guidance was monument. It is very comforting to have Bill as a reference when performing our responsibilities as a real estate agent. I learned a great deal from Bill, as did many in our office.”
Connie Batten (Crabtree)
“Bill is the best manager one could ask for. He will always go the extra mile to make sure agents have all the tools necessary to make a REALTOR become the best he/she can be. His advice is accurate, timely and always factual. He is kind-hearted, yet authoritative. Knows how to get the job done and allows you to have fun doing so. He joys in our triumphs!”
